To Mow, or Not To Mow?
One of our pet hates on Club Sites in the Summer is what seems the never ending screech, whine and whirr of mowers. We used to stop regularly at Threeways (or Marazion as I think it is now called), but gave up in exasperation years ago, and now use CL's.
On our last holiday there, late June if I recall, time after time we sat outside in the morning to have a nice peaceful breakfast, only to be mown around.
We fully appreciate that it is a difficult task maintaining the condition of pitches, but it can appear to border on obsessive, and isn't helped by the strict parking procedures which seem to apply on most club sites. Hardly moving the pegs, everyone having
to stick their awning virtually in the same place, leaving a small bog if it turns wet, results in some barely usable pitches.
And, I have yet to meet a female warden allowed to play with the Toys for Boys, as we call ride on tractors and trailers. If I recall, Threeways has at most four waste areas, and no facilities to clean, so a quiet push of a barrow to collect rubbish would
save fuel, contribute less noise pollution in a beautiful location, and give vanners a modicum of peace.
Or am I being over critical?
