Reality not Myth!
Our first club site stay for months, one night at Old Hartley. (Great Location, lovely hardworking and friendly Wardens, sort of a mixed view of other aspects)
Can now confirm that we have witnessed the mass exodus off site on Sunday mornings, and the stupid members that roll up well before 12 noon to queue to get on site! Why stupid? Because Old Hartley has very narrow roads on the final approach, with a single
width gateway with the reception just inside. So hence chaos ensues! We left our pitch well on time, then called to renew a gas bottle. Gateway was well blocked so we and others could go nowhere. What made it worse was some members were leaving their van's
at gate and galloping around from pitch to pitch like headless chickens searching for that ultimate crumb (or pitch in this instance!) I had to physically stand in front of vans to stop them inching forward towards reception so that we could get out!
We have never seen this before on Club Sites, but we know now!
