Towing a Caravan in Russia

Hi - we are leaving at the end of this month on an overland trip to Laos and intend to go through Russia - Border controls are quite strict and invitations need full details of V5 from the car but in the UK we don't have the same for Caravans - has anyone
crossed the Russian border towing a Caravan and if so what requirements were there as we are just about to apply for our Visas? - thanks in anticipation
