Is Red Pennant Insurance necessary?

I have just booked my  trip to Ireland. This wiil be my first trip abroad and was wondering about Red Pennant insurance. I already have RAC cover which worked last year (they brought my outfit home when I had a brake failure on my car) and I have  cover
from my Bank as part of my current account deal. Should I buy a Red Pennant single trip insurance as well to ensure adequate cover?
