Best Route to Croatia

I've sort of planned a route today, but if anyone has done this trip, please can you tell me which way you went?  We plan on driving about 250 miles per day, maybe a bit more if we have to, so any advice gratefully received.

At the moment our route takes us through Germany, thence into Austria and Croatia.
