Is the quality of new caravans really that bad?

Hello everyone, I started caravanning 4 years ago with the purchase of an old Lunar Meteorite just to see how we got on with the pastime. Of course my wife and I love it and have decided to spend a substantial proportion of our hard earned on a new caravan. We
want light but not too basic and have found we both like the Bailey GT65 Genoa. Compared to our 17 year old Meteorite it of course looks fantastic both inside and out, the trouble is whenever I look for a review from fellow caravanners they only seem to report
build quality issues or damp problems. These reports don't seem limited to Bailey though, all kinds of makes and models seem to have complaints from owners regarding build quality and damp. This has almost got to the point where I dont feel I can put my trust
in any of the manufacturers. Im going to the NEC hoping to find a good deal and buying a new caravan should be a joy, but when it comes to signing on the dotted line Im going to be worried wether Im going to take delivery of a huge headache and some considerable
regret and may just decide to plod on with my old Meteroite. If things are so bad who's buying all these new caravans and why? Are things in fact really so bad? Is there anybody out there with any positive experiences?
