Hi Pete, we are thinking of going in June but cannot find anyone who has been. There must be someone out there, all l have found out is the ferry is an arm and a leg. Have looked at the French ports that go to Jersey (3 of them) but time you have got over to France and drove about 3 hours then paid the crossing fee l don`t think its worth it.

Lets hope we get some advice on crossing, travel to site and site itself.

Pete's post is 5 years old.

There is someone who has done it but I can't remember who.

It's something we seriously considered but eventually decided there were too many obstacles in the way and it would be (for us) better to do it as a hotel break.

Yes.  Leave you camper behind, fly and hire a small car!

I'm biased as I have family connections on Sark and Jersey. We took our PVC to Jersey a few years back, absolutely no problems and I'd recommend it for a pleasant holiday with lots to see and do. The site we used had hire cars and a lot of people hire a car whether they've arrived by sea or air. But with a small van it was easy to get around and park up. The sea crossing takes a bit longer than going to Guernsey and the local roads on Jersey are mostly small but easy with a small van. Bus services are good too. It is an expensive sea journey but I think it's worth it if you want to go there. Take the shortest route from the UK (Poole, just over 4 hours) rather than an overnight one. The next stop is St Malo, we've done that too but that takes even longer. Guernsey and Jersey have a French/British  feel with a foot in each country. There are campsites on Guernsey too which is less of an expense and time ferry wise.

We did lots of nice walks and visits during our stay, some very good places to eat and shop and really enjoyed our holiday on Jersey.
