Battery isolation switch?

I have an Adria Altea (2010). The red keyed switch next to the battery is, I imagine, an isolator switch. Which position should it be in to charge the battery via vehicle or EHU? I've had advice to remove the key whilst charging and I've also been told to
switch it to the right whilst charging the battery.. Any help appreciated.
