Which ferries take dogs

Planning an overseas caravan tour through Europe in spring 2015. We are wanting to take our dogs with us. Newcastle is our nearest port but we could travel from anywhere. Just wondering if anyone can give us any advice please? Which ferry companies accept
dogs? are there differences in costs? Are some better than others? Interested to hear about anyone elses experiences of taking dogs abroad. Thanks in anticipation.
