touring in Norway

We are planning to tour Norway in our caravan this summer for about two months. We plan to go as far north as possible stopping off at various points. I'd like to know: do we need to book camping sites in Norway because they get booked up & full or is it
OK just to turn up (remember we want to go at the height of the season)? Thanks for your help. Tim
