Strange phone call

When we have been out and receive messages we have an intermittent dialling tone on lifting the receiver. 

 At 21.45 tonight our landline rang (we have caller identification) showing our own phone number. On answering I thought I heard a 'click' but then our answerphone messaging service kicked in saying 'this is your messaging service and you have 1 message' press 1 to hear your messages'  To press 1 to use the answerphone is perfectly normal.



Needless to say I didn't press 1 (already had heard the message anyway). My immediate concern was that somehow our number had been 'scammed' for use of a better word Worried

Has anyone had such an experience?
