Speeding fine from Spain 6 month on!!!???

Hi Everyone

We went for our first caravan holiday abroad in spain last summer we had a wonderful time. We had car problems whilst there and through red pennant (great service) we had to use a hire car whilst our car was being mended. My husband is quite a careful driver and we thought we had encountered no problems. Today we a received a speeding fine from Servei catala de Transit he was seemingly doing 100kmh in an 80 zone. Can this be right all these months on?? Has anyone else had one these it just all seems a bit vague??
