Extra Long Mains Lead

Hi I'm off to Spain and France at the end of May for the first time towing my caravan . In some of the site details it refers to long power cables being required. I have a 25 metre cable and plan to take an extension just in case. Do I need another 25 metre
one or can it be shorter?
