Big troubles with Truma mover

After winterising my caravan it was time to get it out for the spring season. Had it fully serviced and she was now  ready for the road.

Engaged the mover as I had to move it in the drive, this is where my troubes started, the remote wouldn't talk to the controller despite resetting I failed to get it to work.

It was to late for this trip to London we had booked in to a C&CC club on hard standing so didn't see any problems till we got there in the pitch dark lashing down with rain we found we had the last pitch at the end of a cul de sac, we had a walk to
the pitch and decided we would reverse the caravan nearly 100m and then back it around the corner and on to the pitch between two motor homes and we finally pushed it the last bit as the length of the caravan and tow van was to long to make the last turn with
out hitting the motor home across the way.

Having done all this in next to zero visability we could have done it so easily with the mover working.

With out much time before the next outing I set to work fixing it only to find it was out of my hands, I rang my mobile mechanic to see if he could help he said no it would need a new controller and he didn't carry them on his van and it would it would
take some time to get one, I should try the main agents, rang 3 dealers in my area all said they where to busy to look at my problem before Easter

eMailed truma no reply so rangTruma they said to take it to a main agent, later the eMail came back telling me to send them the unit, this option would take to long, I needed this weekend we wher on a CL in a field bound to get stuck with all this
rain.

So here what I found out, with a little help from the Internet I actually found the people that supplied truma with the pc boards for the controller unit and remote control they they are based in Rugeley this was just under an hours drive so I took
the unit to them and they fixed it there and then replaced the receiver pcb module and did an upgrade to the unit fully tested it all for £65 refitted it to the caravan and it worked  better than before turning the caravan  in a much tighter turn than ever
before.

So if you have problems with your Truma mover, before you go and pay out £600 plus for a new mover set up give them a call.
