Where to go from Caen - any recommendations

We are thinking of taking the ferry to caen this autumn and exploring furthur south,which will be new to us, anyone got any recomendations of must see areas, we tow and dont mind driving as we are away for 6 weeks all told,however we only want to do 3 sites,
