Recommended routes to Southern Spain from Calais

Thinking of overwintering in Southern Spain in January and February 2013 and would be grateful for any advice on the best way to get there. Do not like to drive more than 250 miles in a day (300 max) so would take 5 days to get down there. Should we go east
route (via Bayonne) or west route (via Perpignan)? We are aiming for Andalucia.
