Downsizing

My disabled partner finds caravanning uncomfortable and doesn't want to do it any more so I am thinking of downsizing to a smaller economical car towing a lightweight caravan so I may continue camping for 4-5 days a month.

So . . . . . I am thinking of a 1.4 Fiesta pulling a caravan up to 1000kg laden (although I never load to the limit).

I'd like to pick everyone's brains as to your comments on this combination please - or suggestions for others, bearing in mind that (due to my own arthritis) I need an automatic and I have a low budget.
