Pitching and prevention
Hello, complete newbie here with a pitching question. Long story short: we have a Volvo XC60 RDesign D4 AWD and picked up our first van yesterday - a new Bailey Rimini. Had done a CC towing course so was nervous but OK with the 30 mile tow home.
On the road no problems at all with acceleration, braking and no snaking at all [despite torrential rain, wind and lorries] but on uneven roads/motorway lanes got pitching which made me feel a bit seasick.
I've read I need to: pump up the rear tyres to max laden pressure, check the noseweight when laden [took my guage but forgot to do it at the dealer when empty], check the van tyre pressure, get weight over the axle when packing the van, try different towing speeds and then adjust weight around the axle to get the maximum noseweight the car will take [90kg]. My question is, is there anything else to try or look out for? The outfit was a dream to tow but for the pitching...
