Electricity in winter

Touring for 3 weeks during Dec and Jan in France and Belgium, where most sites provide only 10A electricity, we were struggling to balance the needs for heating, water heater, kettle etc - and the fear of running out of gas. During the night we don't want
to leave gas on, but find we need 2kw of heating when it's well below freezing outside, so with 10A, no hot water first thing in the morning and don't forget to turn off the heating before you put the kettle on for your morning cuppa! How do others manage?
