Is my water heater safe to use?
I have a Truma Ultrastore combined electric and gas water heater. I drained it down prior to returning home on Friday, but for family reasons had to divert to another site for an extra night. Being a numpty I forgot that the water heater tank would need
to fill up again (we have an onboard cold water tank which I had refilled), so a short while after I switched the heater on, the fuses tripped. Recognising my mistake I ran the hot tap until water came through, thus filling the hot tank. The heater worked
for a while then tripped again, and now trips every time I switch on. I suspect I need a new element.
The water heater is under the seat, but positioned so that the element is against a wall, so the whole unit will have to come out, quite a major job. I am away again at the end of the week so want to put this
off. My question: Is it safe to use the gas water heater for the time being?
