Caravanning through Norway

So, we're planning a trip to Scandanavia in the next couple of weeks.  The loose plan is Ferry to Calais, driving through France, Belgium, Netherlands and through a lot of Norway.  I'm a bit worried about what looks like mountainous roads in Norway.  Does
anyone have any experience driving up and down Norway?  I've heard some cautionary tales about long slopes and declines with brakes and engines overheating.  Is this a concern?

We're new to caravanning, so we've only driven across England from Bath to Ashford.  Any insight into routes around Norway especially are appreciated.
