C. C Touring Guide France vs ACSI Camp site Guide

Going to France next year I will purchase the ACSI card but not sure which is the best camp site guide. Has anyone compared the Caravan Club Touring Guide France with the ACSI camp site guide. The caravan Club guide has no description as to what information
is included in the guide.

    We take them both, some good sites are in one book but not the other, and we still find other sites on-line that both guides miss. So other people recommend  I take the French Guide Officiel as well.

    I would say the same!  The more information you have the better informed you will be.

    We have CC Europe (an old version), the ACS Guide (limited to sites which take the ACSI card) and we also take Le Guide Official Camping Caravanning (the definitive campsite guide  for France with over 10,750 campsites).  And we look on line for those sites
    which are 'off the radar'!

    We always take the ACSI Card directory and the Club's European Guide. I generally find that between them they more than enough choice of sites. I think a lot of us now do research on the internet before we go which also us even greater choice.

    I agree and do the same but not too concerned if the CC Guide is out of date. I also load my sat nav Samsung Tab 3  with POIs of motorhome Aires and parking places and run some of the latest site finding Apps on it. As already said you cannot have too much
    information.

    The best place to buy these guide books is Vicarious Books. "Le Guide officiel" that ValDa mentions is listed and is half the price of Amazon.

    We use acsi most of the time some great sites we have stayed on 23 sites this year spending almost 5 months and 5,000 miles the acsi gps is spot on and my tomtom caravan live is exact to the gate ,we always check with trip adviser reviews, and book in advance
     because we have a twin axle caravan and require a large pitch which some sites have waiting for us on our arrival.

    The Acsi app complements the book well, as it allows you to view reviews of the sites. It makes such a difference to read real travellers reviews as opposed to the Acsi review which, of course , is never bad. We always base our choice on these. Only downside
    is many of them are Dutch which is impossible to decipher.

    I agree with ACSI, but I use the app more than the book.
