Automatic or Manual for towing

what are your thought's on this subject, i changed from a manual to a auto i find it much easier to reverse the caravan with, bit more expensive on the fuel though, but in the back of my mind i some times worry about if the auto box goes wrong i know they
are a lot better than they used to be, but  i should imagine it's  lot cheaper to replace a clutch than have a auto gearbox repaired,
