Riva Bella (Les Pommiers)

We stopped here for the first time the other week. I had read some comments on here about them being in ACSI, but as the site is not listed on the ACSI website and there is no mention of ACSI on their website, I emailed Seasonova to find out. The reply I
received said that they have a 17 euro ACSI price from 19th August.  Great I thought. However, when we arrived off the late ferry they wanted over 21 euros with electric. The receptionist said they were NOT in ACSI and they did not have a 17 euro price, despite
me saying that I had this in an email.  So we decided to do without the electric and paid 16 euros instead.  We stopped there again on our return and couldn't believe how convenient it was for the early ferry.  But as others have said, the toilets are not
great but ok for an overnight stop.

When we stopped on the way back we did notice that they have started ripping out one of the toilet blocks.  So hopefully next year there will be an improvement. But lets hope they keep them clean!

You must have been unfortunate  with the member of staff on duty as we paid ACSI  rate in April  and June this year.

We paid the ACSI rate with ehu in May but on return in July it had gone into high season so ACSI wasn't accepted.

From what I heard they were trialling ACSI for this season. They are also building a new shower/toilet block which will no doubt raise the nightly charge for next year.

We also had ACSI discount in June.

We stayed at Riva Bella last Saturday. They told us they don't accept ACSI so we had to pay Euro 21. This was our fourth stop at the site (over the last few years) and as always we said to ourselves why do we pay more at this site than we do anywhere else
in France? Despite the new ownership the toilets are as poor as ever.

Hoever, they seem to have removed all or almost all of the shacks that used to litter the site and they have cut down many of the trees. We certainly hope that they are rebuilding the appalling toilet blocks.

For us, the only redeeming feature as the site stands is the convenient closeness to the ferry port.

21 € for a very basic site,  in September.

    Total rip off.

...........and as most people only use it for that then I can't see a problem. I understand the large toilet block is to be demolished and rebuilt for next year

The problems are the rip-off prices and the disgusting toillets

We don't use this site for the reason's you stated, we go another 5mins down the road to the Yellow Village site, its in Acsi 19€ a night, lots of good pitches, facilities are good. There is also a swimming pool, bar and restaurant should you need it. There
is a back gate onto the canal its a 3min walk to Pegasus bridge. We much prefer this site, you can book in advance if your on the late ferry into Caen and if you are leaving esrly morning ferry you have the code for the gate.

Notices up re refurbishment of toilet blocks for next year work already started, agree they are poor quality at present but are kept clean. Haute Coutures down the road closes relatively early mid Sept, some pitches opposite pool are on a steep slope.

There are plenty of flat pitches down the bottom of the site by the canal or at the opposite end of the site to the reception. Closing mid Sept. is a pain but many sites close that early in France.
