End of British TV in Europe

We are currently in Spain at camping Didota. Having taken the trouble to speak with the nice guy at satellite superstore to see what size of dish is required to receive british TV and then purchased a 1.1 metre dish on his expertise, you can guess I was
quite annoyed, know a lot annoyed at not been able to receive any British TV in Spain. I was so annoyed I have emailed my MP for Newcastle upon tyne north to complain about we the British being once again the poor relations in Europe. We are surrounded by
Germans, Dutch, French and Belgiums all with there 50cm dishes smiling at me as I try in frustration to receive our channels.  Do not get me wrong, I can receive tv programmes but all beginning in Al or El or even BBC Persia and Arabic in fact I can receive
upto 1000 programmes but not one we can under stand.  My MP came back very quickly and stated I was the first constituent to mention this but not with standing she has written to the Minister of Culture for an explanation. Yes there will be those who do not
want tv abroad and there will be those writing back to this with some smartie remarks, but our uptake is why us?  We pay our licence fee same as the Germans and Dutch, they still get there TV. Who decided to narrow the beam and lessen the power on the satellites,
was it discussed and debated?  Perhaps we need a little people power and write to our MPs to see what's going on. It seems to us that we put these MPs in power but they do not seem to know what there constituents require.
