Indicator buzzer

Just fitted a tow bar and electrics to my scenic, and all is working great but I have no buzzer on the indicators when trailer attached, I thought they kicked in automatically from the car itself or do I have to attach a buzzer myself or do I have to have
one by law? I don't feel the need for a reminder that I'm towing something
