Eurotunnel

An observation. I was on a short notice work trip (van only) to Belgium and went via Eurotunnel (no problem going). I did not book return ticket but just arrived back at the check-in at 11am to buy ticket only to be advised all motors over 1.85m (I have
Trafic van) were delayed indefinately due to migrant problems. No problem for me as I nipped round to tunnel and got next P&O ferry within 30mins.

However, I think if I had prebooked I would have had to either wait it out (they were estimating 4 hours minimum wait) or book ferry and try and recover 'lost' ticket cost later.

yes, tunnel is the easier, quicker choice but for minimum disruption returning maybe the ferry is best.

any views ?
