Swift cupboard latches an easy fix for all
We have a 2014 Bessecarr 495 Cameo, basically a Swift Conqueror.
Having bought it new we've had the usually bits fall off, break etc, (they're not built to car standards ha ha)
Last year the cupboard door latches started to stick (these being the oval handles with a push in the centre and a spring catch behind in the cupboard) the dealer said try some bees wax or release the screws that usually works, it did for a while but now
they are sticking again.
So I decided to remove one and found the spring catch is operated by the centre push which has a long bar attched, when the screws are tightened the bar pushes against the spring catch making it stiff or jamming it.
I overcame this by inserting m4 stainless steel washers beteen the internal door face and the rear face of the spring catch, when the handle and catch are tightened again the washers allow enough room for the long bar.
On the over head lockers over the seats theres no problem as the doors are thicker.
Here's what I used
20 M4 stainless steel washer (no rust)
petrolium jelly to aid placing the washers
feeler gauges to push the washers between the door face and spring catch
Hope this makes sense an easy fix
Cheers
