Dogs in France

we would love to go to france with our caravan benn we think we have seen/read somwhere the our Labrador/staffie cross would not be allowed to travel as staffies are banned in france. Also if we were to go to Ireland he would have to be muzzled.  Would anyone
here be able to clarify for us as we have never ventured abroad before with or without a pet. thanks in anticipation
