Just out of interest & not bothered who does what or not(as it were) if it truly is a dangerous practice this EHU lead discarding practice, why don't the CC & others place a sign attached to the EHU post warning of the dangers of discarding the cable?

Write your comments here...They don't need to put signs up. The CC is not a nanny state. Members are supposed to be responsible adults.   As the warning about this practice is already printed in the CC handbook, all people need to do, is RFM.

    WinkCool

Thanks KHappy, so the fact that members are trusted to be 'responsible adults' the CC see the abdication of safe practice(in this case)
to the members is not a problem ergo neither is the discarded cable. Sorted.

Tinners - Would you care to tell me which "fact" I got wrong then, oh wise one?
    Wink

Or was it simply that any suggestion of criticism of the beloved CC just automatically prompts you to throw your toys out of the pram and start an almighty sulk? Undecided

You have totally the wrong idea about me and CC and obviously don't bother to remember posts that don't suit your little scenario.

I'm not a sulker, Ian, but you could give a masterclass on the subject. Now, I'm finding your rudeness and sarcasm a little tiring so shall we return to the subject matter rather than the world according to Ian?

it certainly could have been better worded, I just wonder why it wasn't, or may be it was intended to be, well, as it appears!

I really don't care what risks of death, injury and destruction other occupants of a site expose themselves to - other than keeping my First Aid qualification up to date.

However I am concerned when people do something so stupid and anti-social that there even is a rule about it in "the book", that can harm me and mine. Electricity is invisible and can travel surprisingly far from the point of "leakage" as a number of fatalities
    and subsequent prosecutions have publicised.

Further information on just how waterproof these connectors aren't is on Wikipedia under "IP Rating."  That is also the basis of the "club" banning the joining together of two cables.

When we stay down near Marazion, we often walk through Threeways Marazion Club Site on the footpath to the woods that runs straight through the site. Astonishing amount of seriously expensive kit left lying around, especially as this is such a remote little
site. We have stayed a few times ourselves, never heard of anything going missing though. Which is good.Happy

The Motorhome we had in the United States, many years ago, had an auto realer. You just pulled out what you needed. So you had to disconnect it before you drove off, or you would not get far. They don't seem to have caught on here though.

I'm sure I've  made silly mistakes out of naivety, I'd be only too pleased if folk help me understand the error of my ways if it helps keep me safe or others safe from my actions! Life long learning and the longer that life is as a result can only be a win,
    win!

Obviously the OP does not have much of a life as to worry what everyone else is doing. Surely time would be better spent counting the number of dogs on site or who is arriving before or after 12 or better still get on with their holiday!

Write your comments here...or even highlighting a dangerous habbit which might just kill someone !!!!!!!!!!

Write your comments here...no just a nosey busy body, if you were so concerned then should report to the warden, not doing any harm unless someone stuck fingers inside, but then you have to ask what they were doing interfering with someone else's equipment
on their pitch rather than staying on their own pitch or the path/roads.

Steady on Ian, that knee of yours is getting all jerky again! Wink

"The wardens must have passed it 5 times a day" is an assumption isn't it, not a statement of fact!

(I'm assuming the OP wasn't sat on site, clipboard in hand?)

.And If? that was the case and the OP was to nervouse? to give a friendly bit of advise to who may have been new to this "hobby" they did not mention it to the lax? warden on one of the possible 5 times of passing as they seem to be watching Undecided

    Hi everyone,

I think the topic here may have exhausted itself and has resulted in potentially insulting comments being posted towards users. Therefore I will be closing this discussion for further comment.

In response to the OP, I would always suggest that if you feel something is unsafe on site or if you have any concerns, please inform the Site Wardens who should be able to help you or offer advice.

    Thanks all for your contributions,

    Rochelle
