Why no Fridge Indicator Light?

This is a plea to fridge manufacturers to incorporate neon indicators to show that the fridge is operating on 12 volt car battery.  So simple, they used to do it but not now for some reason. There is absolutely no way of knowing whether the fridge is working
once you are hooked up with engine running. It would also serve as a reminder that the selector has been changed.

So simple to do and the cost would be minimal because the 12 volts is there. Of course, that doesn't mean that it is cooling down but at least you would know that the split charge relay is working and all is connected. Furthermore it would help overcome
the problem reported on another thread that the fridge seems to be draining the battery with engine off. The neon would show that power is still on.
