Autoroute Tag failed at first hurdle

Not the SANEF one but the alternative which was on special offer. Unfortunately my X5 has a rain sensor which occupies the area around the rear view mirror. I put the tag right next to it but the Telepeage didn't pick it up. Next toll barrier I waved it
around above the car with my arm out of the window. Eventually that registered both on entry and exit. At the next drive-through nothing worked so we took a ticket!

I think that's trend of the experiment unless anybody has any bright ideas? Should they work ever time; lorries just drive straight through?
