Bone Marrow Donation - for New Year????
Can I remind everyone who has ever thought about it, that joining the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Donor registery would be a really good idea.
We lost my Nephew's brother-in-law to bone marrow cancer over the Christmas period - aged 37, and with two chldren aged 5 and 3. He was diagnosed a while ago, but when a donor was eventually found, in South Africa, it was too late and the transplant didn't
take. Sadly he lost his fight, but his death may serve as a reminder to those who have been thinking about offering their bone marrow - to get on and register.
It's not a pain-free process, but could be one of the best things you've ever done, if your bone marrow could have saved someone like him - a lovely thirty-seven year old doctor, and a father to two beautiful children.
