Has anyone noticed that the euro, today, is 1.30781 to the pound!  That's the interbank rate - but for anyone who purchases in advance now might be a good time to change some money or top up their FX cards!  Of course you won't get that rate, but the rate is the highest it's been for some time.

We don't stock up, we take back whatever we've got and use our Norwich and Peterborough debit cards to withdraw cash on arrival in France (or wherever).  These are fee free and give the inter-bank rate even for cash withdrawals.  We then use a fee free credit card for purchases, and pay off the balance when it's due.
