We have just covered a few hundred miles across Northern Italy and stopped at about three services and filled up at one. The ever creative Italian garage owners have thought up another great con. I really love their creativity. Petrol/Diesel has two prices -one (boldly advertised) is the "self service" price, the other is with an attendant and is about 10 cents per litre more. Yes, you've probably guessed, most of the self service pumps are temporarily out of order, the others are cash only, no credit cards. All three garages.
