As we usually go to France we always check their holiday dates but this trip we are in Italy so also checked and were aware of the Italian holidays. Unfortunately, here at Lake Maggiore (31 deg, sorry) it is a day trip from Southern Germany where yesterday
was Pentecost (or something) so from a near empty site we are surrounded by German babies, toddlers, children, smoking BBQs etc. Never mind, as we all know, if you speak loudly and slowly in English (the weather we are liking etc.) then they all understand.
Apparently they all go back to Germany soon so we are quite happy. That will just leave us and a few retired Dutch people to enjoy this spectacular area.
