Vans left to rot

I went in a secure caravan storage compound today, some lovely vans including expensive motorhomes, but what did surprise me were the number of vans covered in mould, others with bits missing and some clearly not road ready. Owners are paying over £500 a
year to store these vans so why do they leave them to rot, and I am not talking just old vans.
