What has put you off a country?
I was thinking about the thread 'Where to go Abroad' and why we love France so much. However, that got me thinking why we haven't been back to lots of other places so I started to list reasons
Here's my list:
1. Italy - being marched 'at gunpoint' or certainly with drawn guns to a bank to withdraw money to pay an extortionate fine which had gone up to almost £200! (And that was twenty-four years ago).
2 Germany - the 'noise police' in Staufen who told my two very small sons (one still a toddler) off for reciting a nursery rhyme in a sing-song way in the street.
3. Belgium - the state of the roads last time we were there.
4 Switzerland - the cost of the vignettes with car and caravan
5 Holland - it's nearly all too flat for us!
6. Anywhere further north - the cost.
We have been on short breaks to Amsterdam, which I like, and also to Rome and to Bruges but I think the list reflects why we've probably never been back to those countries with the caravan!
I know we're missing a lot, and we may go back eventually, but at the moment we find so many new things to do, and new places to visit, that France (and Spain) could keep us going for many years yet.
I wonder what, if anything, has put other people off?
