Is driving in France as easy as they say?

I'm off to France, Paris to be exact in May. We are stopping at Camping International Jablines. On the way home we will be stopping somewhere near Calais, yet to be decided. I have already decided to use the toll motorways and got my Sanef tag already. Is
it really as easy as people say to drive in France?
