And then there was one....
Sadly on Thursday evening we had to have one of our beloved hounds put to sleep. As with all our canine friends she was a rescue dog and had eight happy years with us. I think she liked caravanning as much as her human guardians and enjoyed nothing more
than sitting by the front window, watching the world of the site go past, especially if someone walked past with another dog. We had hoped she would have survived a bit longer as we were looking forward to taking her to the beachside CC site we have booked
for next month, but unfortunately it was not to be, as her time had come and the illness took over.
Whilst we have much sadness at our loss, we also remember the many happy times we shared and the many new places we explored together, which is what the caravan was bought for. Our dogs come with us and see all the new things that we also see. Our remaining
hound is a Patterdale puppy and missing his friend and companion, but we still intend to going on holiday next month so he can see all the new places his friend was unable to see.
At some stage we will get him another companion and give another rescue hound a new forever home and change their circumstances from one of uncertainty to one filled with love, travel and a lifetime of whole new adventures. I know there will always be those
that will never understand why folks take their dogs on caravan holidays with them, but they are part of our lives, part of our family, our companions and our friends.
RIP: Amber.
