Calais to Lake Garda

We are travelling in our motorhome to Salo in Lake Garda with our 2 young children in July. Can anyone give advice on best route down that do not go too out of the way but somewhere scenic to stop overnight mid way (2 young children!) Any info greatly
appreciated!
