Am starting to think long term about changing my towcar within the next few months.  Because I do mostly very short journeys, the later generation of diesels are out, as their DPF's and regeneration cycles would be disasterous for me.  It seems a petrol engined vehicle may be on the agenda as the most suitable power plant for me.

Does anyone on here tow with a petrol engined vehicle? I have only ever towed with diesels, so don't know how well a petrol engine copes with that task.  I still want the characteristics of something that pulls up the inclines ok without constant gear changes and doesn't overheat when towing.
