New law in Germany - high vis vests

Just to give you a heads up:

From 1st July 2014, it will be compulsory to have a reflective jacket in a private car registered in Germany or abroad, as well as in vehicles used professionally and in commercial vehicles.  Camper vans and 2-wheeled vehicles are exempt. The jacket
can be yellow, orange or red and it must conform to European standard EN 471.

I have no idea why camper-vans are exempt!

I assume it is similar to France where anyone who steps out of a motor vehicle outside a built -up area must be wearing vest, so you will need to carry a vest for each passenger. I have e-mailed ADAC in Germany with a couple of questions and will post back
on here when I receive the answers.
