Green Flag short European Cover
May I advise fellow travellers if you book a short term European cover for a vehicle to travel to Europe at the last minute with GREEN FLAG, PLEASE CHECK ALL THE DETAILS..It appears if you book 7 days before your departure you will get pre-departure cover
in the UK. If however you decide to go at the last minute within two days you do not get the pre -departure cover in the UK or the paperwork for another 7days.This is despite the fact that they count your trip from the moment you leave home. The
explanations are very different from what is stated on their webpage and was very different with the three people on the end of the telephone line.I was not advised of this on booking a 4 day cover for my son returning to Germany. He had issues on the M1and
we were told no cover in UK. When I tried the next morning to cancel the policy under the 14 day rule was told I could not do it as I had started the trip already. The trip being Leicestershire to Germany. However after much discussion and threatening to
contact the Insurance Ombudsman and misleading advice, Green Flag finally resolved and cancelled my policy....Also I advise that you give your self a good time allowance.,My policy started 12:00am on the day and we tried to contact them at 23:50 a few minutes
early to be told it was an invalid policy.Due to that fact it was agreed we had not therefore started our trip and the policy was not active they refunded the full amount. So if booking do ensure the policy covers you with a few hours to spare......A lesson
to be learnt here.....
