Route to the Dordogne - any suggestions

Hi All, 

 I have just booked the channel tunnel for our first trip abroad in our fairly new motorhome.  I have been looking at routes and sites and am hoping that there will be seasoned travellers who can give me some tips on the route from calais down to Dordogne
Region.  Also any recommendations on places to stop.  We will be ambling down to Dordogne then onto Spain so it doesn't have to be a  quick route. 

After the great response re the number of passengers and seat belts I am sure I will get some sound advice.
