Low emission zones in Germany - easy to avoid?

Morning all

I have received the following question from a member:

I am having great difficulty in finding out the Euro emissions rating for my vehicle, and wanted to ask you if it is realistic for me to travel to Germany and avoid the low emission zones. Are these areas clearly marked, are the camping sites situated outside
these zones,

I have not spent very much time in Germany, so I have no experience of this - can anyone offer any feedback?
