First time to France/overseas

i am hoping to learn from the vast experience of the forum members. My husband and I along with my 6 year old wish to take our caravan to France this year. We would like to firstly travel down to Paris to experience euro disney and maybe a day in Paris.
Then we would like to travel somewhere else. We are looking at the ferry from Dover to Calais so we don't want to go south for our second site. Any advice you can give would be appreciated. We need to keep the cost down and are not sure what we should be looking
for with regards to sites etc. my parents will also be travelling with us in their motor home.
