Night-time security when windows are ajar

Hello CT'ers - I'm new to the world of vanning, having just bought a great Autocruise Impala from my in-laws and driven it back from the South of France.

I'm getting kitted out with some extra bits & pieces for my first 'proper' trip and wondered if anyone knows of a security device or alternative solution for securing side windows in a slightly open position during the night.

My dog and I want to enjoy the fresh air as much as possible, but my wife is slightly paranoid about having windows open at night.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
