Manchester show

Visited the Manchester Motorhome/caravan show over the weekend and must say was quite unimpressed with the quality of most of the offerings!

The new 'budget Baileys' weren't that 'budget' pricewise, but were definitely 'bottom budget' quality wise! The upholstery was so badly put together it was quite shocking.

Even the Hymers disappointed. One particular example (a £70,000 model on a Mercedes chassis) seemed to utilise a plastic bowl from poundstretcher as it's sink in the washroom!

Stars of the show, I thought, were Bessacar. Nice quality, well put together.

All in all, I thought quality of fittings was lightweight and decent workmanship was lacking in most makes. Wondered if it might be something to do with the never ending quest for better mpg and lower emissions.

These, of course, are just my opinions and I'm sure many of you will disagree.
