Newhaven ferry port

Please don't move this, Mods, because it is to do with an overseas holiday.

Just wondering if anyone has experience of staying overnight with a caravan at Newhaven ferry terminal before catching 9 am ferry. We are going mid-week in May (at a cost of £171 return). 

Did originally plan to either stay at a nearby CL overnight or get up early to make the 160-mile journey from South Lincolnshire to get there for 8am. Website does state there is a parking area at the port. Have made a shortlist of CLs within striking distance
although they may be full as it's Bank Holiday week. Any recommendations appreciated!
